From the sky above
to the earth below
let the rain
of blessings flow
plant the seed
and see it grow
And be it so!
i laid around and thought horizontially, I’ll dream until i die (c/o insultadarity) about how I could bring this third carnival to you all, and then the obvious came to mind, that this carnival would be a celebration of the triple goddess, maiden, mother and crone, a full moon dedication to all wimmin at all aspects of their lifes.
I am reading at the moment, (when I get a chance), ‘Dancing in the Flames, The Dark Goddess in the Transformation of Consciousness’ by Marion Woodman & Elinor Dickson. Its a book that calls for us to reconnect with the transformative and powerful aspects of our feminine energy. So often we think of feminine as being passive, gentle and nurturing and it can be but there is another side of feminine energy that is unstoppably powerful, deep, fierce and magical. The spirit of the great mother, the creator and destroyer who is in tune with the elements of nature and life force consciousness that is buried within all of us and has been oppressed by the brutal elements of male violence and patriarchy.
I wish to call this energy forth into our collective consciousness. As the struggle for equality continues, more than ever we need to realise our own strength.
If you want to find out more about The Dark Goddess, Jaguar Moon has a wealth of infomation including a ma kali meditation and stories, also…..
Sparkle*matrix has a great full moon post on Kali including this invocation…

“Although the patriarchal ego prides itself upon being reasonable, the twentieth century has been anything but the Age of Reason. In our collective neurosis, we have raped the earth, disrupted the delicate balance of nature, and created phallic missiles of mass destruction. Ironically, in our desperate attempt to keep death at bay (or prevent dissolution, from the point of view of the ego) we have brought ourselves to the brink of extinction. So long as we deny the Great Mother and refuse to integrate her as Goddess in our psychic development, we will continue to act out neurotic fantasies and endanger our very survival as a species.” Marion Woodman from Dancing in the Flames.
feminist spirituality dianic witchcraft
“There are many factors that have created a separation between Dianics and other Pagan pathways. Dianics focus solely on the Goddess, the female deity. The beliefs and practices of the groups are grounded in feminist principles and they practice in women-only circles.
These characteristics make sense when you understand that this tradition grew out of the feminist movement. Many of the early feminists were unable to reconcile their activism within the structure of traditional religion, which led to exploration into other spiritual pathways. The early 1970s marked a time where women began sharing their spiritual experiences in conscious-raising groups. This prompted a search for a spirituality that supported social change for women and sustained a woman-centered perspective.”
And now onto the posts…Heart writes about the imprisonment of two Female-Born partners in Pakistan
She writes that “In an attempt to protect Shahzina from being sold by her uncle, Shumail married Shahzina a year ago and they moved away. Under Islamic and, presumably, Pakistani civil law, an unmarried girl or woman relative can be sold into a lifetime of sexual slavery by a random male family member, and this is not illegal. Another man’s wife cannot be sold, however; that is illegal, something like, presumably, selling somebody else’s cow or truck.”
Moon Faith Light shares knowledge about the serpent through myths and stories and how Christianity demonised feminine energy and goddesses by associating them with the serpent “In fact serpents and dragons were closely tied to renewal and rebirth. Just as a woman’s monthly blood was seen as having the power of renewal, so the serpents were linked to female power and the Goddess.”

Barbara’s
Tchatzkahs is about what religous extremism is doing to women Barbara has posted an article on the growing numbers of women seeking surgery to re-intact their hymens to a pre-sex appearance, “Typical hymen repair surgery involves stitching the remnants of a torn hymen together and inserting a gelatin capsule that contains a blood-mimicking substance. After the hymen has been surgically repaired, a woman will bleed the fake blood the next time she has sexual intercourse.” Interestingily enough I have also heard of this surgery being performed on Western women for purely cosmetic reasons and not just as a way of protecting themselves from family shame and/or the possiblity of ‘honour’ killings. This article also reminded me of my own mother who suffered from pain due to pre-childbirth interference from a doctor who tightened her cunt/vagina with an extra couple of stitches, for male sexual pleasure, and that this was basically standard practice in hospital birthing wards in the 60’s.
“The theme that stayed with me was how this act seems so much like a betrayal. Why would a father betray a daughter? Could it be because men are conditioned to hate women, including their female blood relatives? I would think to indiscriminately discriminate would be a difficult task, a task that one must be conscious of in order to accomplish. However, if he is not conscious of needing to indiscriminately discriminate then he would more than likely discriminate against the whole group reflexivitely.’
I also thought this quote would make sense in answer to her question…”love can’t flourish in a society based upon money and meaningless work: it requires complete economic as well as personal freedom, leisure time and the opportunity to engage in intensly absorbing, emotionally satisfying activities which when shared with those you respect, lead to deep friendship. Our “society” provides practically no opportunity to engage in such activities.” SCUM.
With smoke and flame this spells begun,
oh goddess of the moon and stars and sun
let the healing begin
let the earth be whole again,
heal on the outside
heal within
land and sea, fire and wind
So mote it be!
(When saying this healing spell, face towards direction of the nearest ocean, if at all possible from a place where you can view the sea.)
“For most people, it takes a lifetime for the psyche to find its relationship to the Goddess. She appears in the psyche in her three-fold nature, sometimes Virgin, sometimes Mother, sometimes Crone. However it is the Crone that our culture has so brutally repressed. The wise woman, the healer, the transformer has been one of the greatest threats to the patriarchal world.” Marion Woodman.
I’ve linked to three posts from Beautiful also are the souls of our Black sisters, the first is her post and petition…
Towards the end of Aunt Jemima the next is her amazing piece on Sojourner Truth and another brilliant post on The Combahee River Collective“We realize that the only people who care enough about us to work consistently for our liberation is us. Our politics evolve from a healthy love for ourselves, our sisters, and our community which allows us to continue our struggle and work.”
An Angry Rant comparison btw Paris Hilton to Susan B Anthony draws the conclusion that Susan B Anthony, wouldn’t have thought very kindly of Paris and her latest adventures. Susan B Anthony (as relayed from Ann) “was a prominent feminist of the First Wave of Feminism, in the 19TH Century, around 1848. She pre-dated the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s by 90 years. (so wasn’t much involved in this!)
She did start out working with Frederick Douglass on the abolition of slavery, but, after a differing of opinion with him on the issue of black men getting the right to vote before women, via the 15TH Amendment, she and he parted ways.
She then devoted the rest of her life to feminist causes, most notably, the Suffragette movement to obtain the right to vote for women, in the 1850s.
Here is a Limerick posted by Mad Kane (thanks for your humour) who Chafes at Chick
Egotistical Whining sent in a link to “i went to when fangirls attack and saw…” and links to another post that asks some interesting questions about womens choices in our society, and what/who makes the choices that they have.
And thats it for this Carnival! thanx to everyone who submitted links! It was really cool to host this Full Moon Carnival, and remember…
“If it didn’t originate with women or the Goddess, if it does not Spiritually, emotionally, physically, psychologically and financially benefit women, it does not serve women. So fucking chuck it.” CUNT.

We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect. ~Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac link
and from Green Spirit on Eco-feminism…”Removing ‘soul’ from nature enabled men to regard it as a resource, an entity devoid of autonomy or agency, open to man’s plundering. It might be added that the Christian religion with its emphasis on the afterlife and mythology about humans as being cast away from their ‘true’ home in the Garden of Eden, inevitably could be seen to add its weight to this underlying informing myth.”
